A piece of sailing history and adventure

Courageous won the America's Cup in 1974 and 1977 and went on to race in more America's Cup campaigns than any other yacht in history.

We designed our Everquest Sail Collection using the original spinnaker sail used in the America's Cup challenge in Australia in 1987(see picture below with sail deployed).

Courageous drew the top sailors in America to her helm over the years, including Ted Hood, Dennis Conner, Ted Turner and others.

Skippered by Ted Hood, Courageous won the America's Cup in 1974 and then won the Cup again in 1977 with Ted Turner at the helm. Courageous was designed by Olin Stephens and was one of the first ocean racing yachts to be built of aluminum. Stephens also designed four other cup champions; Ranger, Columbia, Constellation, and Intrepid.

Courageous is the only two-time winner of the America’s Cup and is the official State Yacht of Rhode Island.
